Tucked away down a pretty path in the historic part of this sought-after village is Westcliffe Cottage.
The end of a charming three-cottage terrace, dating back to c.1800, Westcliffe presents a wonderful holiday retreat or idyllic permanent family home, being just a couple minutes’ walk to the highly regarded village school and striking distance to the area’s superb golden beaches by foot, bike or car.
The entrance leads to a generous and welcoming kitchen-dining area, sympathetically restored with stunning limestone floor, exposed-stone inglenook with range cooker, ample cupboard space, traditional Belfast sink and oak worktops, recessed glass shelving, and oak window-seat overlooking the lovely south-facing garden.
To the rear is a good-sized utility room, with gas boiler and hot water tank, shoe and coat area, sink, cupboard, and space for appliances. Double-glazed back door leads to rear gravel path, log store, and bespoke shed with room for bikes, surfboards, and garden equipment.
The kitchen hallway leads to cosy lounge boasting a magnificent inglenook fireplace with log burner and wood storage area. Understairs cupboard provides further useful storage. French doors lead to a conservatory which opens out onto the well-maintained south-facing garden.
At the top of the stairs, past exposed stone walls, is the first of three bedrooms. This guest double has a pleasing south-facing aspect and capacious built-in cupboard space. The master, with room for king-size bed and further cupboard space, also faces the garden. The third bedroom, currently enjoyed as a study, has ample room for bunkbeds or a further small double.
Also on second floor, the recently updated bathroom is well-appointed with deep Japanese-style bath, shower, sink and WC. Accessed from the upstairs landing is a useful attic with fibreglass insulation offering plenty of further storage.
The property is accessed via a short, pretty path, which links to steps up to Church Road, where there is ample, unrestricted on-road parking. The property also has access rights via a shared driveway next to Box Cottage on Netherham’s Hill.
